Central to JG Black Book of Travel’s mission of leading the world to inspired destinations is the belief that travel leads to a more connected, tolerant and peaceful world. By working to harness the power of the tourism industry and travelers themselves, we can ensure that the natural and cultural wonders that make these destinations so special are sustained for future generations to experience and learn from.
We are committed to creating and fostering programs that safeguard the people, environments and cultures that make destinations unique. And we choose collection members that share our ethos and work with them to inspire consumers to be compassionate travelers.
JG Black Book of Travel is a founding sponsor of The Bodhi Tree Foundation and has made the commitment to donate 20% of revenue from its VIP Desk to the Foundation. The firm is also a supporter of AmericaShare, the Global Business Coalition, the Institute for the Economic Empowerment of Women, The New York Center for Children and The Education Fund of the Women's Forum.
The Bodhi Tree Foundation is dedicated to mobilizing travelers and the tourism industry to protect places, help people, and support cultures around the globe, preserving them for future generations of travelers to experience. The Foundation offers assistance to highly-effective, community-based organizations with a proven record of inspiring positive change in the areas they serve.
JG Black Book of Travel is a founding sponsor and underwrites 100% of the administrative costs of the organization, insuring that every dollar donated goes directly to the initiatives that need it most. For more information, please visit www.thebodhitreefoundation.org.
AmericaShare was founded by Micato Safaris over 20 years ago to give back to the people of Africa, with children, orphanages and education as their highest priorities. One hundred percent of donations reach the children directly with all administrative costs paid by Micato.
Today AmericaShare supports hundreds of children in schools throughout Kenya. And now Micato has built on its support with its One for One Commitment. For every safari sold, Micato pays to send a child to school who would otherwise stay home due to extreme poverty. Micato has also built and stocked libraries in the Mukuru slum outside Nairobi. Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GBC) is a coalition of more than 220 companies, including JG Black Book of Travel, united to keep the fight against these epidemics a global priority. The Coalition’s members represent more than 11 million employees in over 200 countries.
In addition to providing technical support, GBC organizes collective actions among companies, and links the public and private sectors in ways that pool talents and resources so that companies can take an active role in defeating AIDS, TB and malaria in the workplace and in the broader community. GBC serves as the official focal point of the private sector delegation to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
